Webelos Badges Explained For the Webelos badge, each Scout needs to earn three activity badges, each one from a different activity group. One of the badges must be Fitness. After you have earned the Webelos badge (three activity badges), you will work to complete four more activity badges (for a total of seven) to earn the Compass Point Emblem. After you earn the Compass Point Emblem, you will receive a metal compass point to pin on the Compass Point Emblem for each additional four activity badges you earn. The Arrow of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouting and the only one you may wear on your uniform as you move into Boy Scouts. To earn this award, you will need to have eight activity badges including Citizen, Readyman, and Fitness. You must have at least one activity badge from each of the five activity groups. Remember, you will already have three activity badges including the Fitness badge when you earn your Webelos Badge. It normally takes Scouts one year to earn their Webelos badge and two years to reach the Arrow of Light Award. It is important that each Scout attends all Den meetings and outings, as well as working on activities at home with their parents in order to reach these award levels. |
